BoraSol-WP® is a mineral that can not decompose. It is a water soluble inorganic borate salt used for the protection of wood, wood products, and wood-foam composite structural components against wood-destroying insects and wood rot fungi.
The chemical name is disodium octaborate tetrahydrate, which may be used as a solution, powder or foam. One application of 15% can be typically applied to wood surfaces by brush or spray. Once it is applied, it will remain effective for decades.

As a solution or foam, it will control Powder Post Beetles (Lyctidae), Furniture and Deathwatch Beetles (Anobiidae), Old House Borers and Longhorn Beetles (Cerambycidae), Subterranean Termites (Reticulitermes Heterotermes, Coptotermes), Dampwood Termites (Zootermopsis), Drywood Termites (Kalotermes, Incisitermes) and Carpenter Ants (Camponotus).
As a powder, it can be used for general control of insects such as Roaches, Silverfish, Earwigs, Crickets and Ants.
A 1.5 lb bag will make one gallon of solution which can treat 200 sq. ft of surface area.
